Carrick and Giggs combination in central midfield do not work for Manchester United: Major reason for this combination for not to work out is the age factor. With both being above 30 years of age, cannot run up and down the field constantly. They hardly had any co-ordination and displayed a very poor performance. Not only in this game, but also way back in November when Manchester United were hosted by Norwich at Carrow Road, was the same combination in the midfield for Red Devils. In addition, eventually the result was a 1-0 loss for Manchester United. The midfield should have been Cleverley along with Carrick, as Cleverley is young and energetic he would have lifted United’s attack and track back when had to defend. Carrick and Cleverley are more consistent for Manchester United this season, and especially this is the combination that was put on by SAF in the big games this season.

Aguero is a game changer: Mancini got his tactics and strategies right, by getting Aguero on for Nasri in the 70th minute. This substitution had changed the game in City’s favor, with Tevez supported by his compatriot in the attack and Yaya Toure galloping forward to snatch a winner. Tevez moved into a deeper role, were in he connected the midfield attack to Aguero. Ultimately, Aguero got past three defenders and scored the decisive goal for the blue half of Manchester.

Manchester United made wrong substitutions: Substitutions made by Manchester United were completely wrong in terms of timings. Giggs was having an awful game and with his back heel mistake created the first goal for City. Had Cleverley come on for Giggs at half time, United would have grabbed all 3 points and eventually the title, Cleverley could have stopped Toure, which Giggs could not. Japanese playmaker Kagawa should have come on much earlier for Ashley Young rather than coming on during injury time. With Kagawa’s great passing abilities and skills would have had THE result for United or at least have helped Fergie’s men to snatch a point and keep the lead of 15 points intact.

Robin van Persie should be benched for few games: Yes, you read it right. Manchester United should bench RvP for few games. Though agreed that he gave the assist for United’s goal but he is at United to score goals more than providing assists, and he his goal drought continues. Either of the two can replace RvP in the last few games, it is either Hernandez or Shinji Kagawa. With Hernandez already having 16 goals this season, his lethal attacking skills will get Manchester United the goals. Alternatively, Kagawa should start behind Wayne Rooney, Kagawa used to play in this position during his BvB days; he usually used to play behind Lewandowski and was very effective in that place for Dortmund. Kagawa’s technical skills and accurate passing abilities will help the Red Devils get more goals, with Rooney at the attack. By doing this Manchester United will be handed the title and will win by a decent margin, not by 1-0, which is, the usual margin in last few games for them.
