Daxton Hill, the No. 1 safety and No. 12 player in the country according to 247Sports’ Composite rankings, announced his commitment to the Wolverines on Tuesday. Prior to his commitment, Alabama was considered his lead team.

Hill, listed at 6-0, 186 pounds, hails from Tulsa, Okla., where he attends Booker T. Washington High School. With his commitment, Michigan now has two five-star recruits committed in the 2019 class, including Chris Hinton, the No. 2 strong-side defensive end and No. 24 overall player of 2019.

Michigan’s 2019 class now ranks seventh nationally and first among Big Ten teams.
